Acropolis Now
Acropolis Now
On Saturday the 7th of May 2011 Shoctopus and Xerosun presented a live event to raise money for the Special Olympics. The event, Acropolis Now (the name comes from the venue for the Special Olympics this year, Athens), also featured The Geo Show and a raffle giving away more than €500 worth of prizes, and a late night metal DJ, the incredible DJ Ant from Bruxelles. It also featured excessive alcoholic consumption and Cha Bla in a kilt!

Here is a selection of pictures from the event all taken by our official photographer, the incredible Aled. (Click the banner to visit his site)
The proceedings were opened by the awesome Xerosun.

The MC for the night, The Geo Show, helped things along with a grand entrance and some suitable attire.

Shoctopus took to the stage dressed for battle.

They just don't make the T-shirts as indestructable as they used to.

Tank, giving everything he has in the key of H.

Cha Bla with an interesting line in jewelry...

... and a kilt!

The madness of King Cha!

Cha about to take a bite of a microphone sangwich.

Yes, he does have a warning label on the back: "Not to be used on small children".

So, vote now, should Cha continue to wear the kilt?

And should Ripper continue to be the resident philosopher in the band?

What all good drummers are wearing this year.

Some bands have drummers, Shoctopus has a beat machine who does a good Moses impersonation...

The Gospel according to Ripper, delivered with passion.

Tank interacts with the crowd. Apparently the injuries were not life threatening.

ROCK AND ROLL!

Yep, at some point you have to lose the T-shirt. It was all torn anyway.

Charlie Black does his impersonation of that famous painting: 'The Scream'.

Cha whispers some instructions in the ear of Stavis, who is apparently quite deaf.

Tank showing his displeasure at the awful smell. LYNX, Stavis?

And just to answer that old question: What do people wear under the kilt?
